Liberia III: Gompa City

[ Ganta, Liberia ]

When I roll out of Ganta tomorrow morning, it marks the end of a two-week stopover–the longest I have been in a single location since departing Casablanca just over nine months ago (I left on December 18, 2017). It’s hard to say precisely why I’ve remained so long, but I have some ideas.

It is, in any case, a thriving and bustling little town only a mile from the Guinea border, and a couple of hours from Ivory Coast. I’ve hardly taken full advantage of it, but I have gotten to know its daily and weekly rhythms and some of the local personalities. For anyone traveling or cycling through the region, it’s a great place for a recharge and some entertainment.

See you again soon.

Namaste,
