A Somber Anniversary

[ Pokhara ]

One Year Ago Today the Nepal Earthquake hit, claiming almost 9,000 lives across the country. Today there were a few low-key memorials here in Pokhara: candlelight vigils, moments of silence, and the like.

I commemorated the event with a short, late afternoon photography walk down by the lake. It was a beautiful sunset, with the usual crowds and colored canoes. So…take a look, and make plans to come visit us here in Nepal.

What do a few canoe pics have to do with the earthquake? Nothing. Except they help demonstrate the beauty of Nepal, which may help encourage you to head this way. A trip to Nepal is the single best thing you can do to help complete our post-earthquake recovery.

Break that piggy bank and hop on a plane–paradise awaits.
