Manali, India ]

For what seems like months (because, like, it has been months) I’ve been working too hard and exploring too little. And I ain’t kiddin’ when I say: enough already. Time to shake off the cobwebs.

Tomorrow morning I head out of Manali on a 500cc cliche, the Royal Enfield Bullet Classic. I’m bound for the Kingdom of Ladakh and the heart of the Indian Himalaya—away from the near-daily monsoon rains, the crazy Krishna guy who sings outside my window every evening, and internet reliable enough to demand full-time work.

Tomorrow morning I fire up the Bullet and head for Rohtang La.

Tomorrow morning, I begin recharging my sorely depleted adventure batteries with a solo venture into my favorite Indian terrain.

For the next ten days, I (or we) just pick a direction and go; we turn off our brain for a while and submerge ourselves in whatever happens. And hopefully take some nice pictures of the same.

Tomorrow morning we leave reliable internet access behind, and perhaps our friends and loved-ones—at least for a little while.

And yeah, that probably means you. I’ll see you when I see you—bearing gifts and with bells on. That sorta thing.

Adios,
—j
